We have the same attitude to awards ceremonies as most people, which is that they’re a very good advert for your records. But on this ocassion when we’d come back, we hoped to win the public award for ‘Shine’ but the live award just floored us. It was one of those briliant feelings. We always used to go to this things with a fear that a rock band would take the piss out of us, but we actually felt a part of it that time. We felt like we’d actually arrived.- Gary
